        Article summary

        Summary:

Open a patient chart, and expand the flowsheet view that includes the analyte you want.  Click the (+) in the upper right of the flowsheet to add the value.  It saves automatically.

        Details:

athenaOne provides a way for a user to enter lab value manually, such as when the patient brings an A1C report from another clinic.

        1. Open the chart

        2. Find the right problem

Problems have a “flowsheet” capability to display related data, like labs and medications.  This is accessed via the flowsheet button, visible if you hover your mouse over the problem:

It is up to the user to know which problem to pick.  For instance, to enter a Hemoglobin A1C, the user should pick type 2 diabetes.  To enter Creatinine, the user could pick Hypertension, Diabetes or Renal disease, etc.

        1. Expand the correct flowsheet and verify that the desired analyte (lab result) is there (red arrows below).  For Diabetes and HgbA1C, it will look like this:

        1. Click the (+) in the upper right corner (the green circle in the screenshot above).

        2. Enter the date in the upper left, and the value or values in the labeled fields.  Click anywhere outside that window to exit, and the values are saved.

        1. If you make a mistake and want to edit, just click the date in the column of the new data, and the edit window appears, and you can delete the value or change it.
