        Finding documents by status in a patient chart

        When in a patient’s chart, you can always search for documents by their status.  For example, documents in REVIEW status have not been signed by a clinician:

        ADMINISTER

        CANCELLED

        Orders that have been canceled.

        CLASSIFY

        Unknown documents awaiting classification by Athena (very very rare), probably not very helpful.

        CLOSED

        Most documents should be closed, so probably not very helpful.

        DATAENTRY

        Documents that are incomplete.

        DELETED

        Documents that have been deleted.

        DISPENSE

        Medication and vaccines generally routed to nursing for dispensing to a patient.

        FOLLOWUP

        Documents that require follow-up (usually lab/imaging results or referral orders).

        HOLD

        Documents awaiting reclassification further research or action.

        NOTIFY

        Documents that require contact with the patient (usually lab/imaging results or prescriptions).

        OPEN

        Encounters awaiting closure by the clinical provider.

        PEND

        Future orders or appointments that have been signed but not yet submitted.
